Robina McCurdy (Earthcare Education Aotearoa) and Finn Mackesy (Auckland Permaculture Workshop) are passionate about teaching pedagogy, permaculture education and curriculum development. They have worked together on a range of projects for over a decade and provide complementary teaching and facilitation styles and approaches to permaculture education.

This course will meet monthly over 10-months for a deep-dive into Permaculture, and over 126 hours of teaching time. Taught in an integrated and hands-on way, and hosted at a range of unique and exemplary teaching venues, you will gain the skills & knowledge to develop your own land-use design project.We culminate in a weekend of presentations of your work, and a well-earn community celebration where you will be awarded your Permaculture Design Course.

The ways we shall learn:

We, at Earthcare Education, love the richness of teaching in-person and with the practical nature of this course we will not have any online sessions. However we also know the value of keeping in touch with tutors during the design process and so will offer Zoom meetings with individuals along the way.

Fees: Sliding scale $950-$750

Course fees include food.

Accommodation is not included in the course fees but a limited amount of onsite accommodation options are available. Camping is $5/night and a shared room is $10/night. Let us know at the time of registration if you are interested in onsite accommodation. Alternatively, there are a range of local accommodation options that should suit participants' needs.

Public transport is available from New Plymouth to Inglewood. Also, we anticipate many participants travelling from the national Permaculture Hui directly to the course so carpooling options are likely.

Note: A PDC (Permaculture Design Certificate) is a prerequisite for this training. However, we are reserving three places for sustainability,
community resilience and regenerative practitioners who are wanting to upskill as educators and facilitators utilising permaculture design

methodology.
